Six Sigma
A Practical Approach to Six Sigma for Small and Medium-Sized Companies
This course will provide you with an understanding of the Six Sigma methodology and a "toolbox" of statistical and problem solving methods with which to identify, implement and sustain process improvements in your organization.

The focus of this course is not on statistical theory, but on application of these tools to real-life situations. We use computer-based exercises in workshop sessions to enhance your learning. You will learn a lot by doing, and return to work ready to apply these valuable tools and techniques:
  • Process Mapping and Opportunity Identification

  • The Cost of (Poor) Quality

  • Cost Justification Techniques

  • Visually Displaying Data

  • Basic Statistics (mean, median, mode, standard deviation)

  • Data Distributions (discrete, continuous, and normal)

  • Statistical Process Control

  • Process Capability Studies

  • The 5 Why's

  • Cause and Effect (CE) Diagrams

  • Affinity Diagrams

  • Interrelationship Digraphs

  • Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

  • Confidence Intervals

  • Hypothesis Testing

  • Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)

  • Design of Experiments (DOE)

  • Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)

This course can be scheduled for four to five consecutive days, or spread out over several months to allow application of learned tools in an actual Six Sigma project in your organization.
