Unlike any other training available on the market today, this series consists of 20 narrated "digital movies" in an easy-to-use menu-based user interface, along with several computer-based workshops and exercises.
Upon completion of this training course, participants will know how to:
- Describe the Quality Management Principles upon which ISO 9001:2000 is based
- Describe the relationship between ISO 9000, ISO 9001, and ISO 9004
- Describe the relevance and importance of the internal auditing function
- Interpret and audit to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000
- Apply valuable auditing techniques to various processes within your organization
- Identify and distinguish various sources of requirements and factual audit evidence
- Write clear and effective nonconformance statements
- Develop useful audit checklists

The course administrator at your site may also choose to create additional required activities for the course participants. Recommended activities include creating a Process Analysis Turtle Diagram for a process in your organization (described in Module 5 - Basic Auditing Techniques) and developing a set of audit checklists for an activity or process in your organization, in your organization's desired format (described in Module 18 - Preparing and Using Audit Checklists).
It is important to note that a "trained" internal auditor is not necessarily a "competent" internal auditor. In addition to training, competency involves demonstrating skills and experience in performing required tasks and activities. As such, the course administrator at your site may require internal auditors to demonstrate their auditing abilities by requiring recently-trained internal auditors to acquire internal auditing experience by observing several internal audits and/or conducting internal audits under the supervision of an experienced auditor before performing the audits on their own.
As an alternative or supplement to these activities, Steudel and Mann, LLC periodically provides a web-based interactive auditing workshop to allow internal auditors to practice what they have learned in this course. Via the internet and a live telephone connection, internal auditors are provided with the opportunity to question "auditees", seeking and evaluating objective evidence of compliance with ISO 9001 based on mock audit scenarios and responses provided by the "auditees".
Steudel and Mann, LLC also provides self-paced menu-driven employee training in a digital movie format addressing "What Every Employee Needs to Know About ISO 9001:2000". Company-specific customization of this training is also available.
